We are an interdisciplinary research group of academics and postgraduate students working at Manchester Metropolitan University on Games and Play. Our members come from across the university with researchers drawn from the departments of English, Sociology, Computing and Mathematics, Philosophy, the School of Digital Arts, the Manchester School of Architecture and the Manchester Writing School. We promote work in game studies at a local, national and international level, working with researchers at other institutions, with partners in the games industry, independent designers and artists, and with game communities. Our public events feature speakers and workshops on a diverse range of topics to which all are welcome.

The Manchester Metropolitan Game Centre is committed to fostering new research and scholarship. We supervise PhD students working on a range of topics and our members teach Game Studies across the curriculum at Manchester Metropolitan University. Find out more on our Study pages.
